Agastache breviflora, or Trans-Pecos Giant Hyssop, is a low-growing aromatic purpel mint that can reach 2 ft in height. Transplants well preferring clay or silty soils, likes standing water and tolerates heavy shade. It grows in dry or wet soils in riparian areas, in pine forests and mixed conifer forests from 5,500-8,500 ft. The small, pale-violet inflorescences bloom July-October and attracts hummingbirds and native bees. Plant in partial shade to full sun.
