Trixis californica, or American Trixis, is a subshrub that grows to be 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. It has bright yellow daisy-like flowers that are pollinated by hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. It’s habitat preference are lower and upper-deserts up to 5000 ft in elevation. They enjoy dry sunny areas, rocky hillsides, and desert washes. Some small rodents will shelter in these subshrubs.
