Penstemon barbatus, or Beardlip Penstemon, grows in woodland and conifer forest habitats between 4000-10000 ft. This forb has bright red, tubular flowers that bloom from June-October and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The beardlip penstemon can grow to be about 2 ft. tall and has medium water requirements. Plant in partial shade. Transplants well, reseeds readily. No shipping.
