Encelia farinosa, or Brittlebush, is a classic drought tolerant desert shrub that grows to 3ft tall and wide and is distributed widely throughout the southwest US and northwestern Mexico. Large yellow and showy flowers are wonderful for pollinators and they flower November-May. Found on dry, rocky or gravelly slopes below 3,000 ft (914 m) elevation. Plant in well-driaining soils in full sun. Very drought tolerant once established.
