Epilobium canum, or Hummingbird Trumpet, is a slender stemmed perennial subshrub. It grows to be 1-3 feet tall and spreads outwardly through its rhizomatous root system. The tubular-shaped red-orange flowers are perfect for attracting many hummingbirds. This subshrub produces many flowers and has a long flowering season making it a favorite for hummingbirds.  Found from 4000-7000 ft and flowers between June and October.  Hummingbird trumpet can survive in a variety of different soils.
