Yucca madrensis, or Madrean Yucca, is a drought tolerant, native succulent found on slopes in oak woodland habitats at 4000-7000 ft elevation. Its basal rosette of wider, hairless, lanceolate leaves grows up to 5 ft tall and 5 ft wide, and the flowering stalk can be up to 8 ft tall. Once they reach maturity, the plants flower every year between June-September with many large, cream-colored flowers that attract moths and native bees. Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-draining soils.
