Cucurbita foetidissima, or Coyote Gourd is a native perennial vine with minimal water requirements that grow from 1000-7000 ft in semidesert grasslands and shrublands and in disturbed areas. The low-spreading vines have very large yellow flowers that bloom May-August and are pollinated by native bees. These seeds can be grown in partial to full sun in well-draining soils and are good for erosion control.
