Condea emoryi (previously Hyptis), or Desert Lavender, is a classic drought tolerant desert shrub that grows to 9ft tall and wide and is distributed widely throughout the southwest US and northwestern Mexico. Purple, spiky small flowers are wonderful for pollinators and they flower in the warm seasons. Found in desert washes and on hillsides from 500-4,000 ft (152-1219 m) elevation. Plant in well-driaining soils in full sun. Very drought tolerant once established.
