Cercocarpus montanus, or Mountain Mahogany, is a large hardy deciduous shrub that grows from 6 to 15 ft tall and wide and is distributed throughout much of the western US down to central Mexico. Cream to pinkish flowers from March through July. Found on dry slopes and along washes from 1,000-7,000 ft elevation. Plant in a variety of soils in full sun or part shade.
