Lagascea decipiens, or Doll’s Head, is a native shrub that grows to be about one meter tall and wide and is distributed throughout most of northwestern Mexico and into southeastern Arizona (Santa Cruz and Pima counties). The striking yellow flower is composed of multiple tubular flowers on a flower head, resembles lantana, and is an incredible butterfly nectar plant as it flowers frequently and provides nectar much of the year. Found in canyons 3,000 to 4,000 ft and flowering throughout the year in the warmer seasons. Plant in medium moist, well-driaining soils with part shade.
