Rosa woodsii, or Wood's Rose, is one of the only native rose species in western North America. The rosehips are edible and the attractive simple rose flowers June through September. Grows as a small shrub and can become shrublike from 3 ft- 10 ft, thicket forming. Found in well-draining soils along streams between 5500-9000 ft in elevation. Enjoys full sun to part shade.
