Talinum paniculatum, commonly known as Jewels of Opar, is a distinct and charismatic species, often found laying down and spreading with large, succulent, thick red stems and green leaves. Blooms are delicate, diffuse inflorescences with small pink flowers possessing stamens with bright yellow anthers. Found in moist to dry habitats in woodlands and savannas, desert scrub and grasslands, in grassy soil and crevices, in open and in shade ; 2,500-5,500 ft. Grows up to 3 feet tall. Wide-ranging in the southern United States from Arizona to Florida, and south into Mexico and South America. Flowers July-October. No shipping.
