Salvia subincisa, or Saw-Tooth Sage, is an annual wildflower in the mint family that grows to be 1.5 ft tall and is found along canyons and on shaded, rocky slopes at elevations below 5,500 ft. The small bluish purple flowers are arranged opposite along a central erect stem. This summer ephemeral plant emerges in the warmest months and blooms after the monsoon rains, August-September.
