Hymenoxys hoopesii, or Owl’s Claws, is a high elevation showy aster with bright yellow flowers that grows up to three feet tall. It is found in forests, along streams, and in mountain meadows from 7,000 to 11,000 ft. Prefers full sun or part shade with medium water requirements and flowers June through September.
